What Are The Chances Of Pregnancy Inspite Of Having I Pill Post Unprotected Sex?

Question: Hi I had unprotected sex with my wife but she took an ipill..after two days we again had sex but due to some reasons sperm came out from bottom of the condom while having intercourse..is there any possibiltiy of getting pregant. She took ipill just two days before.

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.

Do not worry. The i pill will cover two days.

Do not repeat this though as its effect will not last more.

Start her on regular contraceptive pill from next menses if the condom is not working properly.

Also do not overuse ipill as they are only for emergency and contain high doses of hormones.

HI Doctor,

Thanks a lot for your reply.

Just to confirm we had unprotected sex on Saturday afternoon and she took ipill around 6:30 in the evening on the same day. On tuesday in the evening time around 7:30 we had sex but As I had mentioned already due to some reason sperm clicked out from the bottom of the condom. Is there any chance she can concieve.

One more thing as sperm ran down from bottom of the condom is there any chance sperm might be flowing up to reach the fallopian tube??

Please doctor help me on this.

Yes that can happen.The sperm can reach the fallopian tube.

But since she is on ipill the fertilization will not take place. The egg and sperm will die.

So she will not become pregnant.

Well if that has happened then there might be a possibility of pregnancy due to failure of iPILL.

Though this is rare but the possibility is still there.
