What Are The Chances Of Pregnancy Without Intercourse?

Posted on Mon, 24 Nov 2014
Question: This is a pregnancy related question. I was having a bath and I realised I had a small amount of Precum on the tip of my penis ( I wasn't masturbsting ). I therefore decided to wash my hands on the sink then finished having my bath. Now as I had finished having my bath , i went to my room to get changed, a female relative went in to use the bathroom. Now my worry is that what if there was some Precum on the bathroom sink tap which I pressed to open when I washed my hands so if she pressed the same Tap and got Precum on her hands from the sink tap I had used previously , and then proceeded to wash her private area after she urineted with her hand which contained Precum ( assuming) could pregnancy occur like this ?? This was around 10 minutes after I had finished having a bath. So if she cleaned her private areas after urinating which may have contained precum , could pregnancy occur?? I am worried about this for some reason

Brief Answer:
Pregnancy is practically impossible

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Its not possible to have a pregnancy the way you have mentioned so please relax and forget about the incident.

Precum is ejected in drops and itself contains a small concentration of sperms. Further you had possibly only operated the tap with your hands and not held on to the tap with enough semen containing sufficient sperms.

If a female touches the tap and then washes her privates then the probability of a pregnancy is nil. There are many events which have to be fulfilled should it give rise to a pregnancy.

1. There should be enough concentration of sperms on the tap and few drops of precum are not enough.
2. She should have held the tap tightly to allow even drops of precum to get onto her hands.
3. The hand or fingers should have been in close contact with her vagina to allow sperms an opportunity to enter the cervix.

None of the above events have taken place so the chances of pregnancy are nil.

Hope this answers your question. Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.

Hope your query is answered.

So the possibility of pregnancy is none existent without any doubt ? There was around a 15 minute gap after I left the bathroom and the female went in . Could sperm not swim the wholee length of the vagina to cause a pregnancy even if she rubbed her private area ? Or is this still impossible ?

Brief Answer:
Its impossible in your case

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing back with an update.

I reassure you that your incident will not lead to a pregnancy. The precum itself is a small quantity and in 15 minutes it would have decreased to an even lesser amount. There are simply not enough sperms and also deposition of sperms by rubbing is difficult to imagine.

In a normal ejaculation during sexual intercourse out of about 40 - 100 million sperms only one manages to reach and cause pregnancy and that occurs because of very close deposition inside the vagina. In your incident it just cannot happen that way.

Hope your query is answered.

So by rubbing , it's not possible sperm can get in , and even if they do get in, it won't be possie for them to swim the enter length of the vsgina , through the cervix then up in the tubes to ultimately cause a pregnancy ? Would you say there is not even a 1 in a billion chance of pregnancy occurring ??

Brief Answer:
Pregnancy not possible

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing back with an update.

There number of sperms in precum are less and they also are dead when the precum dries. In 15 minutes, the precum might have dried fully rendering all the sperms immotile. They cant get anywhere close to the cervix or tubes.

You can say that theres not even one in a billion chance for her to have a pregnancy in the above incident.

Hope your query is answered.

Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing back with an update.

Considering the incident as a whole, the way you might have left few drops of precum on the tap and she having entered the bathroom after 15 minutes, operated the tap and then rubbed her private area.

To the best of my knowledge, it is impossible to have a pregnancy.
