What Are The Chances Of Recurrence Of Symptoms Of Lyme Disease?

default
Posted on Fri, 24 Apr 2015
Question: Can symptoms of lyme disease come and go--\I have maybe two weeks out of the month of good health and then all of a sudden I will experience terrible migraine headaches/body aches/fatigue/ neck pain/ swollen glands/ fever/ feeling flushed/ and bowel--indigestion problems--which usually lasts 8-12 days. If I follow a healthy lifestyle then my symptoms are alleviated. I remember having a bulls eye rash on my abdomen many years ago--10 or 12 but never thought much about it until now. \I also think that stress of any kind tends to trigger my symptoms.

Brief Answer:
Possible viral upper respiratory tract infection&stomach bug as following..

Detailed Answer:
Hi my dear,

I have gone through your medical history carefully and understood your concerns.

Lyme disease can reoccur after the first infection. This is especially true if you've been bitten by another tick recently. In this case, another bulls eye rash should appear.
If not, then, arthritis symptoms can reoccur many times during life.

With regards to your current symptoms, to my opinion, they are suggestive for possible viral upper respiratory infection associated with stomach bug (indigestion issues you are having).

I advise to:
- increase water intake
- take pain-killers for the pain
- have light meals (yogurt, soups, etc.)
- observe what foods/drinks are causing indigestion, and avoid taking them
- try to control stress

If the symptoms are continuous, then, IBS is to be ruled out by your physician.

Hope it was of help!
