Brief Answer:
Condition deteriorates gradually

Detailed Answer:
Hello

My name is Dr Muhammad Ali Rauf & i will look into your problem.

I have gone through your query and would try to help you in the best possible way. First of all i'm sorry that your husband is suffering that much. If dialysis is stopped in such patients then condition of patient gradually deteriorates. Without dialysis, toxins build up in the blood, causing a condition called uremia.

As the toxins build up, a person may experience certain physical and emotional changes. In the final days, the body starts to shut down. In most instances, the shut-down is an orderly series of physical changes which may include:

- Loss of appetite and fluid overload
- Sleeping most of the day
- Restlessness
- Visions of people who don’t exist
- Disorientation, confusion and failure to recognize familiar faces
- Changes in breathing (Normal breathing patterns may become shallow, irregular, fast or extremely slow. There may be periods of breathing that sound like panting.
- Congestion
- Changes in color and skin temperature

Patient may exhibit one or multiple of the above mentioned symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help if not then don't forget to close the discussion and rate it.
Wishing him good health !!
