Question: Hello am little conscious to deal with anyone who has HIV ...please advise if you can transmit HIV virus thru the following:
1. casual handshakes with infected person who has sweaty hand or a small cut with no blood dripping
2. casual kissing on cheeks when you hug a person ...specially if you have a minor cut on cheek after shave but no blood dripping
3. lip kissing a new girlfriend if she has HIV
4. using public toilet previously used by an infected person and if his urine was still on the seat and i sat on it

I know these questions are strange but i get panic in these situations. So please advice

Welcome to health care magic. I have gone through the details.

HIV is not transmitted by handshakes or by kissing or by sharing food or through toilet seat.
Skin is an effective barrier. It prevents entry of HIV.

If open wound is exposed to HIV infected blood then there is possibility of transmission.
Otherwise chances of HIV transmission is nil with the modes described.
You can allay fears of transmission by such situations.

Thank You Sir. Sir 2 last confirmations on this.
1. Suppose i had a papercut on my finger and after one day of i removed the band-aid , if the cut is still there but it appears dry and red with no visible blood or blood dripping and then suppose that i do handshake with HIV effected person, is it a risk?

2. And just confirming Sir, so casual lip-to -lip kissing is notaa risk for HIV right?
how about deep kissing or french kiss with no cuts or blood involved but just saliva?

Please advise one last time and thanks again.

Brief Answer:
Not transmitted in both situations.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for follow up query.

There is no possibility of transmission of HIV by handshake.Skin is an effective barrier.Healed wounds also acts as a barrier for HIV transmission. So HIV is not transmitted by description given.
HIV is not transmitted by kissing ( deep or simple). Unless there are ulcers/ open wounds in both.HIV does not survive in the gastrointestinal tract.
Nevertheless It is better to avoid than keep worrying later.

You can get back for any clarification.
Thank you
