Question : Hi Iam 23 years old suffering from PCOS and used metsmall 500. We were not prepared for children but I missed my periods and had a pregnancy test which was positive,immediately I stopped using all the medicines. We are happy for that iam pregnant but my doubt is that will there be any effect on baby because of metsmall 500 and duphaston which I used unknowingly that I was pregnant

Risk is minimal

hi,

i can understand your concerns.

duphaston will not have any effect and is sometimes even given in pregnancy to prevent early labor.

metsmall 500 is a low risk drug and rarely causes any side effects.

since you have pcos i will advise you to continue pregnancy as its very precious and difficult to get pregnant in pcos.

also risk of any harm to baby is minimal with these drugs.

to confirm that baby is fine do get a congenital anomaly scan and serum alpha feto protein
