Question : Salmonella typhi 'o' value 1/50dilns and 'h' value 1/50 diln. Para typhi 'ah' and 'bh' are negative. Kindly interpret the results. Kid of age 5 years.

Brief Answer: Negative widal Detailed Answer: Hi Thanks for writing to healthcare magic. Upto 1:320 is negative. But depends on the time of test. If done early , say in the first week of fever even 1: 50 needs recheck after a week to see if it rises. To confirm or rule out typhoid better tests are available like blood culture and typhidot .
