What Are The Indicators Of Abnormal Cardiac Activity?

Question: If your blood pressure is normal and the ECG is also normal then can we cosidered that it is a good indication of cardiac system . I appreciate that 2D echo & coronoray angiography is the true test every body can not do it unnecessarily. Or what should be an indication of abonormility of cardiac to a person in a day today life ?

Hi,

I understand your concern.

Normal ECG and BP can almost point to a normal cardiac system.

There is no contraindication to 2D echo . Everybody can have this test done.

As far as Coronary angiogram is concerned, you will be indicated for it, only if abnormality is found on a treadmill testing and echo.

If these tests are normal, you do not need an Angiogram.

Indications of cardiac abnormalities to be recognized in day to day life is.

1.Chest pain.
2.Increased resting rate greater than 100 bpm.
3.Fainting attacks/dizziness/headaches at the back of head.
4.Regular fatigue or shortness of breath while doing daily tasks.

After jogging my heart rate was 136 and BP 153/79 . After 2 minutes the heart rate was 85 and BP was 124/74 . Is this OK ?

Jogging for 5.5 minutes with good pace , BP 158/80 , HR 150
After 2.0 minutes rest BP 150/78 HR 120
After 3.5 minutes rest BP 124/74 HR 107
Is this OK ?

In angina, Blood pressure can increase or stay normal.

Fluctuations with meal is also present.

Mainly in angina, its the chest pain with exertion followed by breathlessness that are the indicators.

Lastly can you have chest pain only because of meals ? and in my earlier question just wanted to ask you whether heart rate rise to 150 in jogging in 5.5 minutes is normal. Thanks for all the earlier doubts which you cleared very nicely.

It could primarily be related to acid reflux disease.

Secondarily it could be due to angina.
