Brief Answer:
okay to use guaifenesin for cough

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for your question. There are no drug interactions between vimpat and citalopram. There are drug interactions with citalopram and codeine so you should not use a codeine containing cough medication. There are drug interactions between dextromethorphan and both vimpat and citalopram so that should not be used for cough as well. I mention not using these two specifically because they are in many cough medication preparations. You can safely use guaifenesin which is in many cough preparations such as Mucinex. It is safe to use and should cause no problems. In addition, a teaspoon of honey can be very soothing to the throat and help with cough as well.
Good luck with the cough and I hope you are feeling better soon.
