Fasting sugar < 100 mg/dl, after food less than 140 mg/dl

Hi,

Welcome to HCM. I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.

There are 3 situations regarding blood sugars - Normal, Pre-diabetes, Diabetes

Normal:

Fasting blood sugar : 70-99 mg/dl ( 3.9 - 5.6 mmol/L)
2hour after food : 80- 139 mg/dl ( 4.4 - 7.8 mmol/L )
HbA1c ( 3 months' average blood sugar) : less than 5.7%

Pre- diabetes (at risk of developing diabetes)

Fasting blood sugar : 100-125 mg/dl ( 5.6 - 6.9 mmol/L)
2hour after food : 140-199 mg/dl ( 7.8 - 11 mmol/L)
HbA1c : 5.7 - 6.4 %

Dibetes

Fasting blood sugar : 126 mg/dl (7 mmol/L) and above
2hour after food : 200 mg/dl ( 11 mmol/L) and above
HbA1c : 6.5 % and above
