What Are The Precautions To Be Taken Before A Cataract Surgery?

default
Posted on Mon, 11 Jul 2016
Question: Hi am 65 yrs of age, soon to be undergoing cataract surgeries for which I ve been asked to take a series of tests, ECG being one of them . Whilst all the other test results seem satisfactory, the ECG report states "Left axis deviation LAHB" is this a cause for concern? Would this get in the way of the surgery being performed?

Brief Answer:
Abnormal EKG

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

I see you are concerned about an abnormal EKG that was done prior to your cataract surgery. The changes on your EKG do not really signify any current disease and maybe an over reading from a computer which happens all the time. The changes will not impact your up coming surgery. I would recommend after your surgery repeating the EKG at a different site to see if you get a different reading. If they are the same then see a cardiologist to get a second opinion.

For now proceed with your surgery without any worries
