Question : My son just ate 2 advil 200mg pills - he will be three in September and he weighs about 36 pounds what do I do

I have gone through your query and understand your concerns. Let me assure you that the dose should be within the tolerable limits. A dose of upto 40mg/kg in a single dose is the maximum acceptable dose and although you have not mentioned the body weight, I presume that it will be within that limit. However, ibuprofen is a stomach irritant and can lead to vomiting and abdominal pain. Be sure not to keep him with an empty stomach. You can give Junior Lanzol (lansoprazole) once daily before breakfast for next few days. Nothing else needs to be done unless any untoward sign is noted. It is then that you need to take him to a doctor without delay.
