Question : Hi Dr. My baby is 5 months old and I gave 1.5 ml of sinarest to him twice in a gap of 6 hours as I was wrongly informed by a Dr. ... I m terrified .. What should I do...
Brief Answer:
No need to worry.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
Sinarest contains acetaminophen/paracetamol, chlorpheniramine and pseudoephedrine. The ideal dose for your child should be 0.7 ml of Sinarest Drops or 4 ml Sinarest Syrup (the concentrations are different). It can be given twice or thrice daily. This is a very safe medicine and it should not be a problem if given in excess. The only side effect should be increased sleeping but nothing needs to be done for the same.
You need not worry.
Regards

I had given 1.5 ml of sinarest drops that too 2 times at a gap of 6 hrs. now my child is drowsy, and a lil off mood, and has got loose stools greenish in colour and of watery nature... is this all going to subside
Brief Answer:
You need to be patient
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back.
The drowsiness should go away in a couple of days. Till then you need to be patient.
The greenish stools are seemingly unrelated. You need to give ORS (Oral rehydration solution) and plenty of fluids. Monitor urine output. The stool will take 2-4 days to subside.
