Question : I accidentally took 2 capsules of 500 mg amoxicillin instead of one and now it's time for my second dose. Should I cont taking it?
Brief Answer:
Yes
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome and thanks for the query.
Amoxicillin is an antibiotic with a wide dosage range and margin of safety. There are indications where one takes a single dose of 3grams. Therefore there is no issue in taking a dose of 1 gram. The blood level required is to be maintained for effective action and this may not be so if you miss the next dose.
So it would be better if you take the prescribed doses on time.
