Question : Hello,
I fell asleep the other night with a bandaid wrapped around my penis and the next morning I woke up and my urethra was tender and it still is. Is this typical? Also I think I may have gotten Neosporin inside my urethra by mistake and have developed a slight tingle feeling. It does not burn when I urinate it actually feels better during urination. The tingle comes and goes but it's annoying. How long will this last?

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome,
I am sorry you are experiencing these symptoms. Yes, Neosporin is not meant for internal use or mucus membranes. If it was a small amount that got inside the penile meatus, and if you are not in a lot of pain, it should dissipate in the next 24 hours. This tissue usually heals quickly.
However, if the burning is getting worse or not improving, or if there is noticeable swelling around the meatus, then it would be a good idea to go in to your doctor or urgent care to get checked.
I hope this information helps.
