Question: My friends 4 year old managed to get into the medicine draw while they were asleep and ate 3 neurofen plus 200mg tables! We aren't sure of the time but he isn't showing any signs of nausea or drowsiness. Should we just keep a close eye on him and keep him topped up with food and fluid?

Brief Answer:
It is an over dose for the kid - please seek the nearest emergency room

Detailed Answer:
Hi... I understand your concern. The dose of Ibuprofen is definitely an overdose for the kid and Codeine's safety is not established in this age group.

I am happy that he is not showing any signs of over dose.

But I suggest you take him to the nearest emergency room and get him evaluated. If this is not possible then the alternative what you can do at home is - give him plenty of water and fluids and make him pass urine well.
