Question : i have taken an overdose of sotalol 240 mg approximately 90 minutes ago. my regular dose is 120 mg. is this a serious situation? if this is serious, what do i need to do?
Brief Answer:
Decreased blood pressure and heart rate
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I understand your concerns but increasing the dose of sotalol can lead to decreased heart rate, difficulty breathing, low blood pressure and blood sugar levels. However, you have not exceeded the maximum daily permitted dose which makes it a little unlikely to cause a serious decrease in heart rate and blood pressure. Still, I would recommend that you monitor your blood pressure and pulse rate within the following 12 hours and if found to below or if you experience any lightheadedness or difficulty breathing then you should seek medical care.
I hope you find this helpful.
