What Are The Repercussions Of Missing A Dosage Of Thyroid Pill?

Question: I had thyroid cancer about 5 years ago now and today i forgot to take my thyroid pill. As i layed down for bed I could feel my heart palpitating. I am also pregnant. Do i need to go into the hospital or will i be fine in the morning with taking my pill?

I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.

1. Missing a single thyroid pill is not a serious problem. However please make sure that your thyroid hormone levels are in the normal range by doing thyroid function test as recommended.

2. If you have missed a single pill then you can take it now (at least an hour after meal) if it is less than 12 hours since the missed dose and then take a regular dose pill in the morning. If it is more than 12 hours from your missed dose then you can skip it and take a regular dose tomorrow morning.

3. Your palpitations is probably from anxiety. Please try to stay free from anxiety and stress. If the palpitations continue in the morning even after taking pills then you can go to the hospital.
