Question : I am a 64 yr. old woman and I have been prescribed 25 mg. of oxicodone daily for the last 2 yrs. I take as prescribed and it has been helping. I went away and forgot to bring it. I will only be missing one day but I am so nervous I am going to get sick. It is a big planned day for me and I cant afford not to feel well. Is there anything to worry about?

Brief Answer:
Effects of oxycodone can last up to 20 hours

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Missing only a single dose of oxycodone will not likely cause issues as the oxycodone stay in your system for almost 20 hours. You can take Advil 400 mg every 6 hours yo make sure that you remain pain-free during the time you miss the oxycodone. There is nothing to be worried about.

Hope this answers your question
