Question : I have an Implanon birth control on my L. arm that is still palpable so I know it has not moved, but it expired on 11/02/14. What are the risks of having it in there after it has been expired, I know I can get pregnant. But what other risks does this cause. Can I get an infection from this?

I read your query and I understand your concerns about implanon not removed.

The implanon will not cause any infection or adverse reactions if left like that.

It might just stop giving contraceptive cover and you may get pregnant. Thats all. There are no other risks.
