Brief Answer: Please do not worry Detailed Answer: Hi, Thanks for writing in to us. I have read through your query in detail. Please do not worry if you have eaten few servings of uncooked pork meat. Getting infected by tapeworm from single consumption of uncooked pork is rare. Pork is well preserved these days and chances are almost remote. The only concern will be any kind of food poisoning or infection with trichinella parasite. This can cause vomiting and diarrhoea. If nothing happens for 24 hours after consumption, then it here is no further risk. Hope your query is answered. Do write back in case of doubts. Regards, Dr.Vivek

Brief Answer: Please find detailed answers below Detailed Answer: Hi, Thanks for writing in with an update. Even if not entirely due to this incident, you and your wife can get treated with parasite-killing medications such as albendazole, mebendazole, or pyrantel pamoate which are usually prescribed. These medications should not be taken by pregnant women, please be sure that your wife is not pregnant before she takes these medications. Hope your query is answered. Brief Answer: Please find detailed answer below Detailed Answer: Hi, Thanks for writing back with an update. The anti parasite medications are usually taken as a precautionary measure. There is no fixed time to take the medication in your situation. You can wait for a week to 15 days also before taking this medication. This is because the worms do not appear immediately, they follow a life cycle. Please do not get worried for worms so much. Only suggestion is avoid taking uncooked pork next time. Hope your query is answered. Do write backmif you have any doubts. Regards, Dr.Vivek
