Question : I am a heterosexual man who had protected vaginal and oral sex with 3 sex workers in the last 3 days. What are my chances of getting hiv, how long do I need to wait to be tested for a rapid test to ease my anxiety, if I had hiv and I am 43 would therapy and drugs help me lead a normal life
Brief Answer:
The chances of getting HIV from protected intercourse are not there.
Detailed Answer:
Dear Dmanly,
Welcome to HCM.
You had protected vaginal and oral sex with 3 sex workers them the chances of getting HIV are not there so don't get so worried or anxious.
You have to wait for at-least 2 weeks after that you can go for 4th generation HIV Duo or HIV RNA PCR to know whether you are infected or not.
The risk is not there in your case as such so just be relax and the drugs for HIV will definitely help any patient to lead his or her life normally.
Thank You
