Question : Dr i have belching and bloating and i have been prescribed carafate. Can you tell me the good and bad about it

You are reporting to have start carafate use.
Carafate is mainly used in an active gastric ulcer. It cover the mucosa of the stomach and protect it from acid injury.
It has some side effects like :
-Constipation, diarrhea, indigestion,
In rare cases it may cause aluminum toxicity if it is overused and can be associated with convulsions.
