Question : Hi. The question I submitted yesterday concerned any side effects to the use of needles (about 30 at a time) in order to treat feminine hair loss. This is a hereditary condition. I have been using a medicated shampoo, and applying medication subscribed for alopecia. But each time I see the PA (I never see the doctor), she suggests that I get the needle treatment. I think that I may be ready to do this procedure, and would like your input before I do. Thank you. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Brief Answer:
Not many side effects
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query
Most often cortisone is injected into the areas where bald patches are present. It has given good results in some of my patients. However few side effects are local irritation and sometimes cellulitis of the area. No patient of mine had any serious side effects with the needle treatment
I hope I was of help, I wish you all the very best for the treatment
Regards
