Dust-Off is a brand of dust cleaner (refrigerant-based propellant cleaner, which is not compressed air and incorrectly called "canned air") containing difluoroethane; it is used to remove particulates and dust from computers and electronic equipment. Dust-Off products are used to remove dust, debris, fingerprints, and smudges from hard to reach areas of keyboards, screens, and other components of electronic equipment. Dust-Off is manufactured by Falcon Safety Products.

I am 26 weeks, I passed out for 30 seconds to a minute I'm guessing. baby is moving, no unusual symptoms or sensations. each time it was about three hours. I'm so sorry I know it's horrible and I'm getting treatment. I just need to know what damage I've done at this point. thank you so much for your help.

Brief Answer:
Need not worry

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for writing back.

There are bad effects of the difluoroethane on growing fetus, the commonest amongst is growth retardation. Can also affect the brain growth but the effect is seen rarely.

Growth retardation is seen in pregnant women who have been exposed to the chemical for longer period of time.

I consider that there is no need for you to worry but necessary to observe the fetal growth in terms of weight over the next coming days till delivery.

Do avoid such huffing anytime in future again.

Hope, I answered your query.

Wish you good health.

regards,

I guess I have two threads going. I just want to make sure you knew it was approximately 6 times and 6-7 cans each time. I'm getting a slightly different answer from another doctor stating I could have caused brainn damage to the fetusand it's freaking me out.

Brief Answer:
Need not worry

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

As I said there are chances of brain growth being affected but it is rare and I do not consider that would be the concern considering the duration you were exposed to.

Keep hopes, Consult a gynecologist get a Ultrasound scan done also get maternal serum alpha-fetoprotein (MSAFP), Amniotic fluid alpha-fetoprotein (AFAFP) and amniotic fluid acetylcholinesterase (AFAChE) estimation done. These tests help to rule out your fears.

wish you good health.
