What Are The Side Effects Of Glycomet GP3?

Question : Sir,
I am diabetic and diagnosed type 2 diabetes long back in march 2012. I had various medication approach during treatment from insulin to oral medication like metformin etc.
Now, i was taking Glyree 2mg in morning before breakfast and in night CetapinXR 1gm after dinner.All these medication before this test.
Last week, I tested my blood sugar count and found as:
Fasting 165
Post Prandial 259
HbA1c 10.7%

I contacted to my doctor for this and he replied you shift to take Glycomet GP3 in morning and same medicine in night.
I want to know it is good to take Glycomet GP3 as i have found in net it has many side effects.
Or i will take Glycomet GP2.
Kindly clarify my query.

The fact remains that the tablet glycomet GP 2 is what you are already having albeit in the form of 2 different tablets rather that 1 single tablet. Glycomet GP 2 is a combination drug.

I think the doctor wanted to continue to increase the doses slowly. Its a accepted way to treat and is safe. I usually differ in my approach. Most new diabetic I am a prefer to use a third medicine nowadays.

I think I would have suggested that you change to glycomet GP 2 and monitor the sugars once more. If the sugars were still high, I would have added a third medicine probably of sitagliptin group . I would recommend the same to you.

I therefore suggest that you discuss the options available with the local diabetic specialist treating you.

Sir,
First of all thank you for clarifying my query. But today i talked to my doctor and he said you take Glycomet GP3 in morning and CetapinXR 1gm in night and after 10 days do blood sugar test.
And thus today I bought Glycomet GP3.
I read that most side effect of GP3 is hypoglycemia at post prandial.
Will I use this medicine combination.

I think the sugars are too high. I feel that in your case hypoglycaemia should not be a problem. I think it would be good to give it a try.
I suggest that you buy a glucometer and test the sugars regularly. This will make sure that you don't have hypoglycaemia.
