Question: My kid is 4 years and 7minths older and he is very much prone to congestion. Earlier we kept him on homeopathic traeatment but the effect of medicine was late and finally we decided to shift him on allopathy. Doctor suggested to use levoline and bridacort nebuliser whenever he feel congestion with particular sound like whistling during respiration. I am very much worried about my son health and want to know the side effects of both medicine if use it regularly.

Brief Answer:
Nebulisers are very safe.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

Such symptoms usually occur due to viral infections and some children are more prone to such illnesses. Nebulisation is the best mode of management. Under usual circumstances nebulisation with normal saline should suffice but if there is wheezing sound, you need to give levolin and budecort. Since these are not released into the blood stream and yet reach the target organ (lung) directly, side effects are minimal and you need not worry about those. The main side effect of levolin can be increased heart rate but usually that is not something to worry about. Overall you need not worry about their long term use.
