default
Posted on Tue, 24 Nov 2015
Question: Hello, since taking Mucinex FAst XXXXXXX Severe Congestion & Cough since yesterday, I just after a shower started getting a rash on arms and legs and severe itching all over my body. Mucinex label says that this is a severe side effect and I should seek immediate medical attention. Is this really needed, or should I just wait it out...?

Brief Answer:
Can wait and observe.

Detailed Answer:
HI

Thanks for posting your query.

Well this is definitely an allergic reaction to Mucinex. First thing you need to do is stop taking it further.

As of seeking medical attention , you can still wait , if the itching is coming down or if there is no breathing difficulty then you can still wait and observe.

You can use Benadry or Atarax for symptom relief.

But if itching worsens or you start having Breathing difficulty , don't waste time , go to ER as soon as possible.

Hope this information was useful to you.
Any clarification feel free to ask.

Regards.
