Hi friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic

Cardizem is Diltiazem - a calcium channel blocker.

It is useful in the management of blood pressure / angina (especially due to coronary spasm) / control of heart rate in some cases.

Side effects are naturally an extension of its effects - slowing of heart rate / fall of blood pressure / depression of muscle - failure may be precipitated in borderline cases.

This is especially so if combined with pre-existing de-compensated heart condition / pre-existing conduction problems / beta blockers / anti-arrhythmic drugs and so on.

Rarely - allergy to the drug or is formulation / swelling of gums / interaction with some drugs - can occur.

Take care
Wishing speedy recovery
God bless
Good luck
