Question: Are there side effects from long term use of Omeprazole 20mg use everyday- I do have. Dr's perscription and it has worked unti I stop using it

I read carefully all your concerns and I can say that yes longter use of omeprazole may be associated with side effects like:
- bone fractures
- vit B12 deficiency
- pancreatitis
- renal issues
In clinical practice long term use of omeprazole means that the patient has used omeprazole for years without interruption .

This is why I recommend you to use low doses of omeprazole and antacids to get relief.
Also I recommend do not take omeprazole more than 3 months in a year.
