Good to hear and very happy for you; yes pls continue for 3 months
Detailed Answer:
Hello sir and welcome.
Thank you for writing to us.
I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. I just noticed that you have been trying to reach me, but the team seems to be sending the query to another doctor. I am sorry if you were trying to reach me and couldn't; just for future reference all you need to do is mention in your query that you want your query to be answered by me, that way they will not send the query to any other doctor. :)
First of all, it is great to hear some good feedback from you about my suggestions and medications. I did mention that it is mildly strong and I do not plan on keeping you on the mebeverine and chlordiazepoxide combination (capsule MEVA-C) for long, but for at least 3 months I do not want to take you off it.
For now, please do continue with both medications as you need to understand that IBS is a progressive condition, and each episode only makes things worse. So we need to try and avoid future episodes completely.
But in all honesty, MEVA-C is a slightly strong medications which carries a few long-term side effects. So once the 3 month duration is complete, I would like to provide a few set of instructions then so you can better understand and live a life both free of IBS-symptoms and strong medications, but at the same time if at all IBS does recur, then we always have MEVA-C, but I would rather keep you on a short course then.
So for now, please continue this for at least a 3 month duration sir. :)
I am glad you found relief and I can feel nothing but happiness to know that I could help. Please feel free to write to me anytime, and also if you need a question answered by me, do mention in your query that you want your question to be answered only by me and it will come directly to me. :)
Best wishes.
