Question : My wife has not urinated since 4:40 this morning. She has no symptoms of an urinary infection. She is an invalid but is able to transfer.

Hi and welcome to HCM,

If she is drinking enough and there is still no urination for 16 hours, then she should see urologist and have catheterization since it may indicate urine retention or ureter blockage. In such scenario, she should get kidney function tests done to rule out kidneys disorder.

But in most cases, this is caused by dehydration, some medications or urinary infections and it can be easily managed.
