Question: I had a colonoscopy two years ago. Very small precancerous polyps. Hemmorhois. Very intense stress right now. Have pressure/discomfort internally in rectal area. Some bleeding. Use hydrocortisone cream prescribed by gastroenterologist. Helps. But, get constipated, then bleed. Scared I have cancer. Gastroenterologist says not due for another colonoscopy for 6 months. Scared I have cancer.

Brief Answer:
Explained

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome

I appreciate your concern

You are one of the lucky ones whose polyps were caught at a precancerous stage and removed.

The subsequent colonoscopies are surveillance to detect any further suspicious polyps or growth. You can relax. As long as the colonoscopies are clear , you don't have colorectal cancer.

Bleeding alone is not synonymous with malignancy of the colon or rectum. Avoid constipation by using cremaffin and ispaghula husk mixture to have lighter strain on the rectum and avoid bleeding.

Wishing you best of health

Thanks
