Question : I am a male 30 yrs old. I recently went to a massage parlor and had a naked body to body massage for the first time in my life (7 days ago) . She first asked me to lie on my stomach and then gave me a body to body massage on my back, hips with her naked body. She rubbed her vagina with my hips. Then she asked me to turn around, on my back that is. She then rubbed her vagina on my penis and on my whole body. During this time she went to and fro on my penis many a times. I also caressed her body and moved my fingers on the outer of her anus and vagina. Then sucked her breasts for some time, i don't think she was lactating. We also kissed but for 2 - 3 seconds, during which her tongue got in touch with my tongue. I can confidently say it was not a passionate or deep kiss, it was like sucking the heads of our tounges. Then she took my penis in her hand and started jerking it, meanwhile i started fingering her. The finger that i inserted was a bit chipped off around nails, actually i had peeled it with my teeth in the morning and i had seen a small needle head sized blood on that area in the morning due to this peeling. After few hours that area became red as if its a mixture of scab and some blood still there. I will say it was not fully healed, though i did not see running blood coming out but it was red with small drop of blood still visible. I am really terrified now about contracting HIV. I am not able to sleep after this incident.

1. Is there a possibility that i can get hiv due to this cut on my skin? I have heard that the cut needs to be deep, will my cut be counted as a deep one?
2. Can smooching for 2 - 3 seconds make me catch HIV? When it was not deep at all.
3. Can sucking boobs be a concern? They were not lactating as far as i remember.
4. On the 8th day i got few tests done. Hiv1 Rna and hiv1./2 p24. Attached are there results. How conclusive are these reports on 8th day. What other tests and when should I get them done for conclusive results ?

Brief Answer:
Your risk is very minimal!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Your risk of contracting HIV from this encounter is very minimal even if this lady was HIV positive. You can sit back and have a cool head. Get a conclusive testing on day 21 after the exposure and that will close the chapter. 8th day is still early for conclusive results.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to follow up with mw if need be.

Hi Doctor Ditah, can u comment on the small cut i had on my finger and i fingered using the same finger. It was not a deep cut and had beld for some time aftwr the skin got peeled. Do you think this kind of cut can expose my blood stream to the virus? Also what test should i get done at 21 st day? Can't i get anything done before.. I am really worried. Thos anxiety is killing me? Did you get a chance to view my reports as well they are negative (hiv1 rna quantitative test and hiv1/2 p24 test) bitjnhave come negative. I got them tested on the 8th day

Brief Answer:
I viewed your reports(2). Integrated finger lesion into answer!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I reviewed the information fully. The cut is a minimal risk factor and that’s why controlling at day 21 or later will provide a definitive response as to whether you contracted any infection or not. It is highly unlikely that you were contaminated by this encounter given all the details you have provided.

I hope this helps. I wish you well.

Hi,

There is no better conclusive test before 21days. I will recommend you go with PCR as this offers the best results.

Hi Doctor Ditah, one more thing.. She rubbed her vagina over my penis for some time and I had not put a condom. Do you think her vaginal fluids could have got access to the mucous membrane inside my penis? How risky is this activity?

Brief Answer:
Minimal risk!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I understand you are obviously more worried than you should but HIV is not just transmitted this easily. If it were, the whole world would have had so much to deal with. Be calm and relaxed as we spring towards day 21 for an ultimate verdict via PCR.

I wish you well.

Thanks doctor ditah. should I go for a qualitative one or quantitative test on 21st day? Which one should i get Dna pcr or rna pcr? Also i have heard that these tests are done for prognosis and not diagnosis of hiv. Are these tests hence reliable?

Brief Answer:
Do HIV RNA!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

They are done for diagnostic purposes because antibodies are not yet produced to provide reliable serologic tests. They do serve both as diagnostic(early days) and prognostic(later) in the course of the disease.

I wish you well.

Hello doctor, i am keeping this thread open, so that i can show you the rna report after i test on day 21. Meanwhile, as i couldn't resist, i got myself tested on 14th day with hiv duo test (hiv1/2, p24) again.. And it has come negative. Should i be relaxed after this?

Brief Answer:
More good news!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Consecutive tests certainly more good news. This will be graced with the report of the 21st day after exposure. There is more reason to be optimistic given these test results and the nature of the exposure which put you at low risk.
