Question : My son (22) away at college has been sick for about a week. He appears to have symptoms of the common flu but I want to know the symptoms of Enterovirus please.

I am sorry for the health situation your son is in.

1. Common signs of enterovirus include :
- respiratory symptoms: flu-like symptoms, runny nose, sore throat, ear pain, sinus congestion, loss of smell or taste, etc.

- gastro-intestinal symptoms: indigestion?, reflux? diarrhea alternating with constipation? nausea? vomiting? abdominal cramps

- headaches, body aches, etc.

2. You can describe all the symptoms your son has for a more specific judgement.

3. Meanwhile, I advise to get checked by a local medical doctor as he has been with sick for around 1 week.

4. You can advise him to:
- take tasectan or pepto bismol in dcare o fdiarr
- take probiotics to normalize intestinal flora
- take painkillers to reduce inflammation, and lower body tempereature.
