What Are The Symptoms Of First Stage Diastolic Dysfunction?

default
Posted on Fri, 8 Jul 2016
Question: My last echocardiogram showed diastolic dysfunction stage one but I have several symptoms of stage 2 can the echo be wrong or can it advance quickly? I am seeing a cardiologist on 7-5 and I just want to be informed when I speak with them. Also, I don't have any of the issues that the Internet relate to this dysfunction no high BP, I am not overweight and I have never smoked or used alcohol more than 1 drink every 5 years truly!

Following advice

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you for asking!
I read your query and understood your concerns.

First of all your symptoms aren't related to diastolic dysfunction. Patient with first stage diastolic dysfunction are asymptomatic. Please keep in mind that diastolic function (or dysfunction) is an echocardiographic parameter (and echocardiography measures are accurate)

Secondly you should keep in mind that it's a common finding in patients your age to have a first stage diastolic dysfunction.

Thirdly most of your symptoms are more likely to be related to lupus than to cardiac issues.

Hope this will be of help!
Wish you health!
