1. Infectious mononucleosis or glandular fever is due to Epstein-Barr virus and the symptoms are like that of flu which is for months.

2. The main symptoms of glandular fever or infectious mononucleosis includes the following.
(i) Fever which might be for some days
(ii) Tiredness which can vary from days to months
(iii) lymph gland enlargement in the neck for days to weeks
(iv) Sore throat

3. Some patients can also have generalized symptoms like
(i) respiratory difficulty
(ii) abdominal pain and discomfort from an enlarged spleen
(iii) dysphagia or difficulty in swallowing fluids and solids
(iv) rashes
