Question : what are some symptoms of intestinal parasite? I've had on and off symptoms for several months. It's a discomfort in my upper abdomen that makes me feel like I'm hungry, but I'm not. I haven't noticed anything weird or wormlike in the toilet (gross) but lately symptoms are more frequent and include some pain that keeps me up at night. Discomfort is worse when my stomach is empty. I do eat a good amount of sushi but am pretty fastidious about cleaning my food otherwise, am primarily a veggie eater. Thoughts

Symptoms of parasitic infections depend on the type of parasite with one is infected. Symptoms may range from acute diarrhoea to chronic diarrhoea leading to malabsorption and its sequale. Other symptoms are abdominal discomfort, abdominal pain, nausea, or fever.

The symptoms which you have mentioned may be due to parasitic infection. So I will advise to get your stool examination for ova and parasites so that parasite can be identified and can be treated accordingly.
