Brief Answer:

Shortness of breath, cough, fatigue, general unwell feeling

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Rejection of a transplant may present in different ways eg fever (rarely), loss of function of the transplant (in your case- shortness of breath or other difficulty breathing), general weakness or unwell feeling (malaise), cough, fatigue, chest pain.

Fever, nausea, aches/pains, diarrhoea are most commonly in keeping with a viral or bacterial infection of the gastrointestinal tract (stomach and intestines).

It is usually self-limiting, lasting a few days in most persons, rarely extending to 2 weeks.

Treatment would consist of--(1) holding off solid food till a 4-hour window with no symptoms

When this 4 hour occurs, start with small amounts of dry foods, if tolerated can increase the amount and change the type

(2)fluid and electrolyte replacement to prevent dehydration- oral rehydration fluids or very dilute sports drinks

Only very small amounts should be used initially for the first hour if tolerated then increase the amount

(3)probiotics

(4)pepto Bismol may also help as well

Hope I have answered your query.

Take care
