Question : My 4 yr old toddler has a flu but the doctor has prescribed antibiotics and since my mother had already started with the antibiotics I let it run its course. Along with the antibiotics the doctor prescribed crocin syrup every 6 hours. It's been almost 5 days now and my son has not had a fever for atheist 24 hrs. Can I stop the crocin now. His cough is still worrying and his chest is congested. He is extremely fatigued and has been sleeping for the past 10 hours. Could he have swine flu.

                                    Brief Answer:
Make him drink Lot of fluids
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to HCM.
I am Dr Rakesh Sharma answering your query.
I can understand your concern.
If there is no fever you can stop crocin syrup, but if he has fever again you can always give it SOS.
If he is not having fever chances of swine flu is very low, how ever it can be tested.
For congestion in chest best is steam inhalation if it is possible otherwise decongestants can be given but they cause sedation.
May him drink lot of fluids.
Add multivitamin syrup as well for fatigueness.
Hope I have answered your query.
If any thing else you are welcome.
Good luck.
