Question : my wife just discovered a tick in our hotel room, it was on her pajamas. she has diabetes so we are
worried about it.

Tick borne disease unlikely.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome To HCM. I am Dr Anshul Varshney. I understand your concern.
Tick born disease is very unlikely in this case scenario.
The reason being that tick has to be attached on the body for disease to get transmitted.
If tick gets attached it usually doesn't get removed on it's own.
So probably she has been lucky that thr tick was found before it could attach to her body.
Also you should check for any other tick on her body that might be attached.
In case she gets any symptoms like fever then you should inform your doctor about this episode.
