What Are The Treatment Options For Urinary Incontinence While Treating Diabetes?

May be due to diabetic neuropathy provided that other conditions ruled out.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I think you are suffering from urge incontinence or overactive bladder. Causes for that are Urinary tract infection, Cystitis, bladder stone, benign hypertrophy of the prostate, spinal cord injury, diabetic neuropathy, stricture, on medication like water pill. In your case, we can easily rule out the possibility of BPH.
What is your last HbA1c value? If not done please check it. Can you please let me know what do you have a fever, burning micturition, blood in urine? Kindly follow up with detailed history.
You can take tab. flavoxate. As this is prescription medicine, so consult with your doctor. Do Kegel exercises. treatment mostly depend upon the underlying condition. Do ultrasound abdomen and pelvis, urine routine to rule out other conditions. In your case, if all possible conditions ruled out, then probable diagnosis will be Diabetic Neuropathy.
I think this will clarify your concerns. Thank you.
Take care.
Regards,
Dr Shyam Kale,
Family and general physician.
