Brief Answer:
Transvaginal ultrasound scan will not show kidneys and urinary bladder

Detailed Answer:
Hi xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.

1. A transabdominal pelvic scan will show the urinary bladder, uterus and ovaries. It will not show the kidneys. It is done with distended urinary bladder.

2. A transvaginal pelvic scan will show uterus and ovaries in detail. It will not show the urinary bladder completely because you are supposed to have an empty bladder during transvaginal scan. Kidneys are not visualized.

3. A transabdominal abdomen and pelvic scan will show kidneys and urinary bladder and other organs like liver, gall bladder, pancreas, kidneys, uterus, ovaries and bowel. It is done with distended urinary bladder.

Usually an ultrasound scan abdomen always includes the pelvis.

Hope your query is answered.
