Hope you are doing well.
I am writing to you after a long time and all this while I am doing great physically and mentally. I got rid of my anxiety by practicing meditation and yoga as per your suggestion and it did help me a lot. Thank you for that.
I recently had my 6 month cardiac check up in March, and doctor confirmed that I am quite stable as per the Echo, ECG, CBP blood reports and general examination.
When I went to my cardiologist, I wanted to ask him about my ectopic beats and before I could ask, he figured that I was having ectopics by placing his hands on my neck and chest. But he did not suggest any further checkups or medications as the ECG showed Sinus Rhythm and Echo did not suggest any abnormalities. He also changed the cardiac check up plan from every 6 months to Once in an year as I am doing well. Also, he just wanted me to continue Listril 5mg and Folivite and asked me to discontinue Ecosprine as I don't need it. (I did not ask why)
However, I do have ectopic beats even now (they disappeared for few weeks though) I had an episode today where it lasted for about a minute. Though I do not have any other symptoms with ectopic beats - they just come and go away. Because I am now used to this and after my doctors (including you) were not concerned about these, I am not worried.
But I did notice that, the ectopic beats occur when I eat little heavy or I skip meals (when I have acidity) So, today I had a heavy lunch and when I got up from the table I suddenly started to feel ectopic beats and they lasted for nearly about a minute and disappeared when I sat on my desk. So I clearly can confirm that the majority of the causes for my ectopic beats is either eating heavy or skipping meals. (but there were instances where I felt ectopic for no reason.)
Is this normal? do I need to undergo any treatment for this or are there any home remedies to completely get rid of these?
Looking forward for your answer.

XXXX

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
Thanks for writing back to me. Yes I am doing great thank you. After carefully passing through the details provided by you in your query I just want to assure you that every young individual do have ectopic once in awhile throughout the day and the important thing to take note of is that this ectopic activity should not continue for a longer period of time. If topics are happening once in a while and for just a shorter duration and there is nothing to worry for and it can be safely ignored.
In fact ectopic once in a while signifies a healthy heart so there is nothing to worry for and there is no need for any kind of Investigation or medical treatment for your ectopics.
As in your case you are observing that ectopic are happening after heavy meals or when you skip a meal so you should be very regular and adequate in your diet.
And lastly I am very very happy to hear from you that meditation is actually helping you in combating your anxiety and stress levels just keep up the healthy practice and you will be fine.
My all best wishes to you
Kind regards
Dr Bhanu XXXXXXX
I just want to get a fair understanding on "ectopic once in a while" does that also include ectopic beats everyday (even though its for a minute or less)?
Also, you have mentioned that the ectopic activity should not continue for a longer period of time, can you please help me understand what is the longer duration? Having ectopic for about 2 to 3 minutes could be longer duration or a shorter one?
Lastly, can you suggest me any specific diet (fruit or vegetables) that can help me control ectopic?
Regards,
XXXX
I'll explain
Detailed Answer:
See XXXXXXX as our heart is functioning 24× 7 so ectopics can happen daily or any other time sometimes they get noticed and sometimes don't.
There is no significance until unless they are associated with symptoms like dizziness, lightheadedness, feeling of passing out or fanting episode.
If they are bothering you then the only treatment is to start taking beta blockers to suppress them which I would not recommend.
As such there is no recommended diet or any such proven diet related report which could suggest what to eat and what not to eat. Google might give you suggestions on that but scientifically there's no evidence to that.
Hope to have cleared your doubts and relieved your worries.
Regards
