Question : I was prescribed Ativan for anxiety and sleep at 2mg. 4x and 4mg. at bedtime. I have been on this 4 days and greatly concerned about withdrawl and rebound insomnia effects pls help.

Hello,

Withdrawal symptoms usually depends on the time that you used Ativan and also the doses.
If you have only four days that you used this medication you should not be worried about withdrawal symptoms.
In my personal experience with patients the withdrawal symptoms appear after one month of using the medication.

Rebound anxiety and insomnia occur four days after the last dose.
They usually happen when this medication is interrupted immediately.
So my advice is to gradually lower the dose of the medication to avoid the withdrawal symptoms.
