Question : Hello. I was going through a rough time a while ago and have been on Clonazepam for about 5 months. I have been taking 1 mg in the morning and 1 mg at night. My doctor has me weaning off of it and for the last week I have been taking .5 mg in the morning and 1 mg at night. Is it normal to feel some withdrawal symptoms throughout the weaning process? I called and left a voicemail with my doctor but I just wanted another opinion. Thanks so much.
Brief Answer:
Yes it's normal to have some withdrawal symptoms
Detailed Answer:
Hello thanks for asking from HCM
I can understand your concern. You have used Clonazepam for about 5 months regularly. Even after gradual withdrawal it's normal to see mild withdrawal symptoms like slight insomnia or slight restlessness and anxiety. You reduced the daily dose from 2 mg to 1.5 mg and this is the reason of withdrawal symptoms. With time these symptoms will reduce by own but during the weaning process you will have mild symptoms.
Thanks and Take care.
