Question: please give me a taper schedule for withdrawl from lorazepam 2mg tid=6mg per day taken for long time period. thank you!I WOULD LIKE TO RECEIVE A TAPER SCHEDULE TO DISCONTINUE MY LORAZEPAM PRESCRIPTION. TOTAL DAILY DOSE IS 6MG /DAY.

Hi and thank you so much for this query. I always advice clients to talk to their doctors before getting off drugs. I hope you have done that already.

I am happy you are conscious of the possibility of drug withdrawal and would want to take measures to get off it. I will like us to observe the following. It has been very helpful to most of my clients.

2weeks of 2mg bid.
2weeks of 2mg once daily.
2weeks of 2mg every other day.
Then, stop the drug all together.

We would monitor and adjust if there is need. For this, update me as you start the process and carry on.
