Brief Answer:
Suggestive of alcohol withdrawal

Detailed Answer:
Dear Ma'am, Hi & Welcome to HCM.
I can understand your concern for your beloved husband.
From the history given in your query he seems to be having some sort of withdrawal symptoms of alcohol. This is based on the fact that whenever he consumes alcohol he does not experience the bouts of sweating am I right?
I need some more information like
1. For how long he has been consuming alcohol?
2. Does sweating occur on his face, palms, or armpits, or all over the body?
3. Is he suffering from stress, anxiety or emotional disturbance?
4. Is he suffering from lack of appetite or weight loss, palpitation (pounding heartbeat), cold or clammy hands, or fever?
Awaiting your reply so as to analyse his condition to suggest the remedy.
Regards.

Brief Answer:
He must stop taking alcohol.

Detailed Answer:
Dear Ma'am, Hi
Thanks for your reply and the compliments.
Noted the requested information.
Since he is not trying to leave alcohol (dependent) and whenever he takes alcohol he does not suffer from sweating, to me it appears to be a withdrawal phenomenon.
Secondarily as you have mentioned he has some business related issues for which he is experiencing stress, so it could also be due to anxiety or stress related sweating as well.
In view of the above explanation, I would advise him to consult a psychiatrist, he will help him to overcome stress by de-stressing methods, exercises or certain medications like benzodiazepines (like Diazepam or Chlordiazepoxide) or Beta blockers like Propranolol to help control the anxiety and thus sweating.
He must stop consuming alcohol and must undergo detoxification under the supervision of a physician.
Besides medications he should
1. Wear loose garments when sleeping, preferably made from wicking material (polyester microfiber) which helps keep moisture from the skin.
2. Maintain a comfortable, cool temperature in the room with proper ventilation. 3. Remove blankets which may not be needed.
4. Excessive sweating may be controlled with strong antiperspirants, which plug the sweat ducts. Products containing 10% to 20% aluminum chloride hexahydrate are the first line of treatment for underarm sweating.
Hope the suggestions given above would be useful in gettig him proper treatment.
