Question : A doctor prescribed me penicillin for an ear infection. He took a look and said my right, inner ear was very reddish. It was 2 pills a day for 10 days. Well, I still have the same blockage/pain I had before visiting the doctor about it after completing all the pills in 10 days (2 a day).

What can I do that will stop this?

Hii. Welcome to the healthcare services. You are having a cute otitis media or acute inflammation of the middle ear. The doctor has given you proper medication of amoxycillin. You had to take two pills per day for 10 days. It will prevent the infection to spread and will resolve it. But it will take at least 2 week for infection to resolve. So ear fullness will be there but pain will decrease. Ear fullness may persist for 1 month as eustachian tube is also congested due to acute infection. So no need to worry. Take an antiallergic tablet levocetrizine at bed time for 2 week. Start nasoclear nose drop and continue for 2 week. Take steam inhalation. Follow up after 2 week and review if you have any queries.
