Question : I injected myself with a steroid called Sol Medrol 1000mg / my right side is fine but my left side (bum and hip) suffered a major injury. I have had a bacterial infection and as a result I have hardened tissue light a ball on my hip joint. The infection should be ok in a few more days as I am on antibiotics. What can I do to eliminate the hardened tissue as I cannot sleep on my left side.

What was the indication for Inj SoluMedrol ?
Are you a Diabetic?
Is it the injection site where it is hardened and infected ?
Is there abscess or pus formed there ?

Meanwhile you can do warm compress on the affected sute which can reduce the induration (hardness) .

For osteoarthritis

When I'm laying down all appears normal

When I'm on my right side the hip bone appears hard and out / even curved. When I stand there is a bulge across my buttocks 2cm to 3cm.

The xray says no bone damage or break.

Based on your description, it looks like you have a local induration due to either medication or vehicle compund in the injection. It ll resolve over time. Warm compresses might speed up the process.

If not reduced by 4 to 6 weeks, I would recommend a ultrasound scan of the affected area to understand it better.
